Summary: | The programs needed to create and run a PostgreSQL server |
Description: | The postgresql-server package includes the programs needed to create and run a PostgreSQL server, which will in turn allow you to create and maintain PostgreSQL databases. PostgreSQL is an advanced Object-Relational database management system (DBMS) that supports almost all SQL constructs (including transactions, subselects and user-defined types and functions). You should install postgresql-server if you want to create and maintain your own PostgreSQL databases and/or your own PostgreSQL server. You also need to install the postgresql package. |
- Apply upstream fix for CVE-2010-0442 (negative length for bit substr()) Resolves: #559195
- Fix inter-package Requires and useradd -n switch Resolves: #550783
- Add % release unintentionally omitted from Provides - Adjust BuildRequires back to RHEL-5 environment - Don't run autoconf on the main package: we don't currently need to, and the RHEL5 version is too old for some of the macros used here - Revert patch for bug 228263, since that only works with tcl >= 8.5 Related: #489479
- Updates per package review process Related: #546464
- Created by renaming current Fedora postgresql package
